About
Sean McCarthy is a New England based solo artist.
“Swim”, Sean’s latest single, is a complete departure from his previous recordings. With a strong Rocky Votolato vibe, an acoustic guitar and a single vocal track help to expose the stagnation of life and the realization of it being time to take the leap and follow your true calling.
“Live on Saturday Night, Uncut” is an EP featuring 4 songs performed live. Joined by the “Ragged Impressarios” on the first three tracks, the last is a solo acoustic performance. No edits to the performances were done. To help obtain a vintage sound, the drums were mic’d using the Glyn Johns technique. When asked, “Why a live record?” Sean’s reply was, “The band nailed it. Why not? Plus, I had that recording of ‘Sunday Morning‘…”
Ragged Impresarios are:
Craig Jackson – Lead Guitar
John Dorizzi – Drums, Loops
Kurt Friel – Bass, vocals
Mic Pesaturo – Guitars, vocals
Sean’s EP, “Everything Has Past”, was produced by Steve Bertrand (The Tories, Avion) and features drummer Kenny Aronoff (John Mellencamp, John Fogerty & more), bassist Chris Chaney (Jane’s Addiction, Alanis Morrisette), guitarist Sean Woolstenhulme (The Calling, Lifehouse) and keyboardist Scott Simons (LA-based Solo Artist). Added to the mix were Grammy Nominee & Juno Award winner James “Jimbo” Barton assisting with engineering & world-class Mastering Engineer Tom Baker (Precision Mastering). The EP contains a power-packed punch of fresh, new material that will fit perfectly into the collection of any fan of today’s new rock music. Bertrand states of the new release, “Snow Patrol meets Kings Of Leon……the best recorded version of Sean McCarthy to date.”
Sean’s prior CD entitled “July” is a collection of three songs highlighting this artist’s versatility. The CD’s co-producer, Todd Bowie, has worked with The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac & most recently, Beck among many other artists.
